Welcome to MyDietResearch LLC, where we are proud to introduce MyDietSteps™, a nutrition education app for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. Here you will find product information, nutrition content and a blog to assist you in your nutrition journey.


The app combines nutritional recommendations from three sources to bring you comprehensive, individualized nutrition information; the Dietary Reference Intakes (DRI) nutrient standards, the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, and the new MyPlate food guidelines that were just introduced by the USDA in June. Based on your personal information, the program calculates the nutrients you need for health and shows how to obtain those nutrients from food.

In MyDietSteps™, your food group pattern is the key to meeting your nutritional needs through diet. Starting with foods grouped by nutritional content in the new MyPlate system (choosemyplate.gov), your food group pattern tells you the number of servings from the food groups that you should eat each day to meet your nutritional needs. MyDietSteps™ offers food group patterns for 23 calorie levels for four diet types (meat protein, mixed protein, ovo-lacto vegetarian, and vegan). That's 92 patterns total, that show how meat eaters and vegans alike can meet their nutritional needs through diet. Sample menus show how foods fit into the food group patterns, while meeting the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Use the menus to start thinking about your own diet and changes you can make towards healthy eating.
